About me:

I am a licensed social worker with more than 20 years of experience supporting individuals and families. I earned my Master’s degree from the Silver School of Social Work at NYU, and I bring a breadth of clinical and relational expertise to my work.

Working in the practice of Rebecca Mai, PhD, I provide individual therapy to teenagers and adults as well as parenting therapy for families. With experience in therapeutic clinics, schools, and sleep-away camps, I am equipped to support clients in clinical, educational, and community settings.

Working from a relational, strengths-based framework, I partner with clients to help them build resilience, navigate challenges, and achieve meaningful goals. I am trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), a parent-based anxiety treatment developed at Yale, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I have also completed Diversity and Inclusion training at Cornell, further strengthening my commitment to culturally responsive and inclusive care. I am currently earning a certificate in Sport and Social Work from NYU, which will enhance my work with athletes.

In addition to working as a therapist, I enjoy working with organizations on a wide variety of topics. I have given workshops on…

  • creating a culture of belonging

  • utilizing restorative conversations in discipline

  • developmental stages and typical behaviors in children

  • effectively coaching girls in athletic settings

  • friendship workshops for children and families

  • puberty workshops for children and adults

With an office on the Upper West Side, I offer both in-person and virtual therapy sessions. My approach is transparent, collaborative, and grounded in warmth and humor. I look forward to connecting with you!
